After several releases from different artists like Neurotron, East  Island and Tim Wolff, the EevoNext team thought it would be nice to go back to the beginning and form a 'What's Next 2' compilation, with contributions by the label's original artists and one special guest.

It features tracks from Estroe, The Moderator, Terrace and Avigail. Last one also signed for the cover artwork. There are various flavors found in the featured music: to listen to at home, and to play in the  clubs. Estroe's 'Anybody' is a deep minimal techhouse track suitable for starting off a great night. Tension increases with Terrace's dark edged 'Lidl Chronicle'. Uplifting moods are achieved with 'Bump!', a no- nonsense melodic techno stomper. Finally it is time to chill with Avigail's dramatic 'Slipping'.

A good uplifting album with deep-intelligible-tunes.

Estroe track;  warm, deep, techhouse,  that i like every hour of the day.

The moderator track:  it keeps me going .. on and on and on and on

Terrace track;  thumbs up !!

Abigail track;  good track, but does not match on this release.

(it sounds like a triphop track ala massive attack)

Thanks for sending.. I think I'm leaning most for the Avigail track. The drum programming is maybe a little static but I love the synths and atmosphere so much. thanks!

airplayreview: After some E.P.s from the past back catalog of the label and after some brand new band, Eevo Next decided it was time to do a little sum of the sound proposed. Spanning from minimal techno to particular ambient electronic, WHAT'S NEXT 2 E.P. is bringing four digital only tracks/bands. Estroe, The Moderator, Terrace and Avigail are presenting four different tracks. Estroe's "Anybody" is a nice minimal techno tune where rhythms/sounds alternation create a varied pumping scenario which little by little become a little ambient thanks to synth pads a tiny melodies. Avigail's "Slipping" is the most particular track of the lot (I reviewed her E.P. months ago) and under a core of dub bass lines there's a little soundtrack full of strings, melody and passion with some i.d.m. rhythmical solutions here and there. It's like a particular mix of Cocteau Twins and ambient electronic. With Terrace, Stefan Robbers (the man behind REC, Con Man, Florence and Sierra Romeo), bring us a "Lidl chronicle", a track suspended between techno, ambient and electro. The Moderator with "Bump!" closes the short compilation with a techno tune that mix anxious melodic lines, ambient pads and bumping bass lines. Nice compilation but I'd have preferred a couple of track each, just to get the right mood for each artist.

Nuno dos Santos

Beautiful track by Avigail!

Tim Wolff (EevoNext)

These are four very elegant tracks, all four of them. Estroe's (nice warm pad towards the second part of the track) and The Moderator's are my faves.

Arne Bezemer:

Estroe's "anybody" is a great track!

Will play it for sure.

Rene Passet:
